Estee Lauder : 2012 Holiday Look Event at Isetan Scotts

Happy Holidays Ladies!

I was fortunate to be chosen as one of the 10 Facebook fans to get special invites for Estee Lauder Holiday Look Event last 22-Dec at Isetan Scotts. Since it is an invite for two, I tag my dear friend Angie with me. I've met a lot of beautyholics like me who participated in the event, and it was fun!

It was an exclusive access to a beauty demo by Regional Makeup Director Zohn Ho, who is an expert in transforming dull face to radiant and younger looking in just minutes! He shows tricks and tips on how to achieve sexy lips, hide dark circles, basics on smokey-eye look, and more. All our hullabaloos about the Estee Lauder products has been answered. He is very nice, clever and funny, indeed!

The guru itself, Zohn Ho

Below are some of the few tips we learned (if my memory serves me right) from Zohn Ho himself. :)

When applying EL’s blush, just take a small amount of it because it is pigmented. Smile and apply it very lightly to the apples of your cheeks. And to achieve a more visibly and radiant skin, you can put EL's Ideal Light Brush-On Illuminator before applying blush.

On how to get smokey-eye look, as advise by Zohn. Line your eyes first to frame it, then apply the medium color eyeshadow all over lid and put the darker eyeshadow on the outer lid. Apply the lighter eyeshadow on the inner lid and blend it well. You can also apply eyeliner on the waterline too. Clean up any fall-out by applying concealer. Zohn used the EL's Ideal Light Brush-On Illuminator again which really shows how powerful the product is.

New trick I learn from Zohn is to mix EL's Perfectionist CPR Wrinkle Lifting/Firming Serum with
EL's
Ideal Light Brush-On Illuminator and slowly brush towards the lip line to enhance the lips' natural shape.

Another feature product is the EL's Idealist Even Skintone Illuminator which is ideal to use during the day when you need to freshen up your makeup. It will instantly make your face glows and reinvigorate.
And here it is sisters, EL's a must have item is the Ideal Light Brush-on Illuminator at S$44
To wrap up the event, we receives Estee Lauder door gift : it has Nail Lacquer, Advanced Night Repair, Double Wear Mascara and Foundation. We are very pleased!

Review : Hada Labo Arbutin Whitening Lotion

Hi guys! Today's product review will be the Hada Labo Arbutin Whitening Lotion. I received my free sample on the mail last month and just look closely on the pictures below to see the effects on my skin after using it for a month :)

Hada Labo Arbutin Whitening Lotion with Hada Labo Cleansing Oil :)

I used to have reddish pimple scar on my left  and right temple.

Small pimples or white heads used to appear in my forehead.

Verdict: After trying the product, I positively believe that Arbutin Whitening Lotion is compatible  to my skin and it really helps to lighten my skin and pimple scars for a short period of time using it. I'll definitely grab this item soon!

You can find Hada Laba in Facebook and request for samples too, Hada Labo (SG)

Clarisonic Mia 2 Review : Sephora Singapore

Hi girls!

Today's review will be on the least expensive range of Clarisonic's Sonic Skin Cleaning Systems, Mia 2 :)

I had been using Mia 2 for more than three months now and I can say that my breakouts minimized a lot! I feel that my skin has become smoother, less oily and it does look radiant.

Updated: As of today (4-Jan 2014) I had been using Clarisonic Mia 2 for more than a year =) and still lovin' it!

I'm actually glad that it works just nice on my skin type (oily to combination).
Why? I had been reading reviews from others that after using Clarisonic, their skin started to break out. That's a bit scary right? Bought mine for S$249 on Sephora Ion Orchard and if it doesn't do good on your skin, then we're on a deep shit... haha!

I'm only using the cleanser during night time as I just need to make sure that my makeup has been totally clean; or no residue has been left behind before sleeping. Then when I wake up in the morning, I just use my hands to cleanse my face with my usual face cleanser (I had been using Olay Regenerist Cleanser). I feel that my face is not that dirty. And besides, I do not want to rub my skin too much, it strips natural oils and will cause dryness. Dryness leads to wrinkles and fine lines, and that's not what we are aiming for. We wish for that baby soft skin, that we all used to have last time :)

Below shows how I use my Clarisonic Mia 2:

1. Remove makeup using your normal makeup remover.
2. Wet your face and the Clarisonic brush using a warm water.

3. Squeeze the cleanser on your palm and apply to the brush head.... spread it evenly, just like how you do your peanut butter jelly... =D

4. And turn On the brush. 20 sec on your forehead area, another 20 sec on chin area including your neck, and 10 sec each on your cheek area.

5. Rinse face first with warm water and follow with cold water to seals in the moisture.
6. Pat dry and apply your serum, eye cream and moisturizer.

Now on to taking care of your investment :

How do I clean my clarisonic?
I wash the brush-head and handle separately using warm water + hand soap (Kirei Kirei antibacterial foaming hand soap).

Rinse and shake off excess water by brushing the brush head on to a clean hand-towel.

Then, I let it air dry inside my room. By the way, I notice my brush head seems cleaner or maybe whiter after I switch to a different cleanser (Olay Clarity Fresh Cleanser) or maybe after using Kirei hand soap. Im not sure which one though, I will monitor it and update you if the brush-head color changes again. But I'll be replacing my brush head in the next few weeks. So hopefully, changes will be noticeable before I replace the brush head.

Note : Clean the brush head regularly, at least once a week.
